IFFCO's Paradeep Unit in Odisha - one of India's largest integrated fertilizer complexes, producing close to 2 million tonnes annually across sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, and DAP/NPK plants - needed something far more demanding than typical event WiFi: a network that could follow a moving vehicle continuously through kilometers of plant roads and building interiors, without a single handoff drop.
A live plant visit, 90 minutes, zero drops
The occasion was a live virtual plant visit for IFFCO's Managing Director, Dr. U S Awasthi, joining remotely from Delhi. A Polo cart carrying the Plant Head and a camera crew roamed the entire route - internal roads and major buildings alike - for roughly 90-120 minutes, streaming 2-3 wireless HD camera feeds through a video switcher into a live Zoom call running across 3 laptops, alongside conference audio, talk-back, and walkie-talkie systems. Any WiFi handoff delay between access points would have broken the video call mid-transmission.
From Aonla to Paradeep
This wasn't a one-off: the project started at IFFCO's Aonla unit, and it was executed flawlessly enough that IFFCO awarded Webpix the same deployment across all 4 of its remaining units - Kalol, Phulpur, Kandla (Gujarat), and finally Paradeep (Odisha), the largest and most complex of the five given the scale of the site.
The event also called for a live video conference and full video production - outside what we typically lead with, but built on the same underlying network we'd already engineered for the plant. It's a pattern that shows up across our larger deployments: when a client's event needs something adjacent to connectivity, our on-site technical team is often positioned to take it on rather than bringing in a separate vendor.
